Untethered
Poetry book
Like many Lebanese expatriates, Joy felt she had no choice but to leave her home and family behind to seek better opportunities elsewhere. Her poetry delves deep into her feelings of alienation, living in a place where she is far from everything she has known and loved. She questions whether she has made the right choice, whether she can live with an incomplete heart, whether she can live away from her family.
Her lines are imbued with an honest and raw emotion, portraying her darkest moments of overwhelming homesickness and loneliness. Many who have migrated will identify with Joy’s reality and will find solace in the universality of these emotions.
