Maz is an architecture student currently based in Paris. In her work she explores bodies in motion, and their relationship to their surroundings; notions that are also prevalent in architecture. According to her, hands are the best tool to understand the human body. They allow you to touch it, but also to draw and shape it. Working with ceramics is her way to express herself in harmony with her vision.
Maz recently started a new project in which she focuses on vulvas. She wants to give more visibility to this body part that has been neglected far too long. Maz highlights the architectural and sculptural aspect of vulvas with their clitoris, labia minora and majora, and vestibule.
Maz’s ashtrays/pots expose the lack of public interest for vulvas. Often seen as an object, she takes it literally and turns them into actual objects. Maz also wants to break the taboo and demystify vulvas by presenting them as an every day object.
