Brussels
Klou is a brutal slut, a tender tattoo artist, an activist and a graphic novel artist. Her artistic education started at the Beaux-Arts in Brest, France. Bored of the conceptual and bourgeois aspect of her course, she leaves for Brussels as an Erasmus student to study at 75, a multidisciplinary art school. After her Erasmus, she decides not to return to France and instead continues her schooling at 75, to learn engraving and screen printing. Meanwhile, Klou is broke and can’t afford rent. She then becomes a sex worker. In 2020, her degree in hand, she travels to Brazil. The physical distance gives her the opportunity to look back on her two years of working as as a sex worker. She starts working on an intimate and militant graphic novel, with the intention of sharing a realistic perspective on sex work, far from the pitiful and crass clichés.
Project published by Parisian publishing house Anne Carrière.
In addition to her work as a graphic novelist, Klou is also a tattoo artist. She reuses her illustration style and feminist themes to adorn the epidermis of those who want to go under the needle.
