French illustrator Justine Chanal is driven by inclusive and caring feminist themes. She questions women representations through sunny, colorful portraits combining oil pastel, watercolor and digital drawing. The artist highlights older women’s strengths and pluralities and gives them a tribune by making them visible, creating new empowering representations, proudly displaying their white hair as a symbol of emancipation.
Most recently, Justine has been working with the Sistech association, which helps refugee women find skilled employment in the Tech sector. She illustrated the label of the militant cuvée “A Propos d’Elles”, for Vin & Volailles. She has also been published in the feminist press: notably the independent Cacti Magazine and Libération’s “L” Newsletter.
