Cy

Based in Paris, Cy is a comic book artist, illustrator and graphic designer, known for her series Le vrai sexe de la vraie vie and graphic novel Radium Girls. She studied at the École de Condé in Paris, where she specialised in illustration and visual communication.

Cy started her illustrating career at Madmoizelle, a French magazine, where she wrote about her daily life and current events such as the COP21 or street harassment. In 2014, she started the series Les dessins de Cy(prine) to talk about sexualities, consent, respect and pleasure. Her illustrations are based on stories sent by readers that she translated into images. Following an enthusiastic response, Cy published Le vrai sexe de la vraie vie in 2016 with Lapin Éditions, followed by a second volume in 2018. In 2020, Cy published Radium Girls with Glénat, a graphic novel relating the story of 1920s American factory workers who contracted radiation poisoning from painting watch dials with self-luminous pain.
