Calodizuccheri is an Italian artist currently based in Belgium. Her name comes from an Italian expression meaning “low blood sugar”, which she uses with a friend when one of them is feeling low.
In her artistic practice, she is highly inspired by graphic novels, as well as other illustrated books that surround her in her job at a children’s library. Her work is a way for her to discuss personal themes such as queerness, transness and womanhood, all with a loving approach. It has allowed her to put her thoughts on life and the issues she faces out into the public, and reach out to her growing audience.
