Originally from Tipoli, Lebanon, Barrack Rima is a comic book artist and filmmaker. She studied comic book and illustration at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, as well as cinema, radio and television at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Louvain-La-Neuve.
Multidisciplinary artist, Barrack is a member of the Lebanese collective Samandal, and has collaborated with international press since 1996, also working in the music, theatre, circus and danse industries.
Barrack published several comic books, including Beyrouth (1995), Le Conteur du Caire (1998), and Beyrouth Bye Bye (2015). She has been published in weekly columns for De Brusselmansen, Brussel Deze Week, Sociologia and Al Akhbar, amongst many others. Renowned and admired for her work in Lebanon, the artist now lives and works in Brussels.
