Nicky Lapierre

Nicky Lapierre, is a trans nonbinary artist, who explores notions of intimacy, identity, fantasy and the fragile limits of our socio-cultural realities through different medias. Photography, cinema, written words and sound art come together in his art through performative installations. After having studied for three years at La Cambre in Brussels, Nicky founded an alternative curatorial collective, an artistic residency that went from gallery to artists run space before finally becoming a multimedia studio. He wrote and directed Astro, a fictional documentary about the grief of love and gender issues in provinces during the 2000s, which was produced by Films de la Récré, and was selected and nominated at the FIFF NAMUR 2022, the PINK SCREEN 2022 and at the Magrittes du cinéma in 2023.
