Trained as a photographer, artistic director and scenographer, Léonie Stolberg studied at the Institut International Saint-Luc in Tournai and at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. Her work has already been exhibited at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris.
Léonie is an advocate for body positivity, never editing the models in her photographs to remain authentic and represent a diverse range of bodies. Aiming for self-acceptance, the artist claims the right not to conform to society’s ideal body type.
Léonie’s practice goes beyond capturing her images. The process is as important to her as the end product, she creates the scenes on paper first, creates a connection with the model to make them comfortable, and oversees the production of the final project. Every photograph becomes unique, a part of her personal story.
